The color variation is due to Iron and titanium impurities. Combination of Titanium and Iron are prevalent in rock forming segments of earth's crust, which explains the early availability of Sapphire. |
Sapphire is found in Sri Lanka, Myanmar, India, Thailand, Australia and Nigeria. Montana in USA also produces vibrant colors of Sapphires. It is the birthstone for September. |
